Sag Harbor Hideaway

Luxury Living – May 2009

Swaying palm trees, colorful foliage and a towering sculpture form the artist Niki de Saint Phalle Flank the long, azure pool.

located on the waterfront in the Hamptons’ luxe Sag Harbor, designer Lisa Perry’s six-bedroom mansion is a vibrant mod fantasy drenched in eye-popping primary colors, courtesy of canvases from luminaries like Alexander Calder, Frank Stella and Alexander Liberman. The guest bedrooms are oriented in blue and yellow schemes (each room includes color-coordinated notepads designed by Perry), while the green children’s room includes a life-size stuffed giraffe. Though the house is far from the city, it still retains great urban style.

The showpiece of the soaring dining room, styled with George Nelson bubble lamps and a sleek Tucker Robbins table, is an exercise pool equipped with jets for swimming against the current.

Her airy, white-walled master bedroom built around a curvaceous, red-orange chair includes a custom-crafted circular bed.
