Country Living In East Hamptons
At their English-country-style residence located on a rolling green carpet in the exclusive East Hampton, design duo Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper have created a tranquil sanctuary by emphasising natural wonders over man-made. A handmade brick wall topped by massive bronze lions brackets a staircase leading to a sunken garden outfitted with cornucopias cradling metallic balls and an ornate fountain. Whereas the grounds are drenched in green, the interior is all warm earth tones and country touches. The effect is relaxed old-world sophistication, a place to unwind and let life’s stresses evaporate.
The multi acre estate is landscaped with a park’s worth of mature swaying evergreens, cypresses and weeping hemlocks, plus blooming rhododendron bushes and a pristine pool.
Tiny paintings of animals and grand-scale illustrations of nature are mix-and-matched with lived-in elements like leather chairs and stools, timeworn rugs and exposed wood beams.
